Resource Type:Professional Resources; Teacher Professional Development
Language:English
Organization:Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB)
Summary:ICPRB provides stream monitoring training or follow-up guidance to help schools develop a benthic macroinvertebrate stream monitoring program. Not only do stream monitoring and ecology programs inspire students, they also provide ample opportunities for a transdisciplinary program that involves biology, chemistry, history, geology, communications, data collection, and analysis — your stream ecosystem's the limit. We provide this seven-hour program upon request ― for instance, to a group of teachers at your school, to multiple teachers in a school district, or to religious organizations wanting to start a stream monitoring program. The workshop can be tailored to your program's goals.
Subjects: ecosystem; professional development; water quality; watershed
