|Summary:||For video-based lessons that teach middle and high school students about the Moon and space, visit LewisLe@rning. The Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) curriculum (grades 7-8) is based on the 2009 NASA mission of the same name; LCROSS discovered water in permanently shadowed craters on the Moon's south pole and found that the Moon is chemically active and has an active water cycle in lunar shadows. Through three activities and labs -- Kinetic energy, Momentum, and Phase of the Moon -- students explore the natural forces and technologies that made the LCROSS mission possible.|
