Summary:The NASA/GSFC Scientific Visualization Studio has in recent years created animations based on the GISTEMP dataset following the end of the calendar year. The most recent animation available was released in January 2013 and shows the five-year mean anomaly of surface temperature for 1880 through 2012. The means are five-year rolling averages, such that the animation begins with the 1880-1884 global surface temperature anomaly, advances in one year increments, and ends with the 2008-2012 anomaly.
